Using Digital Media to Empower Youth
Saturday, April 16, 2016
2:00-4:00pm
Cumberland Public Library, Cumberland, RI
Facilitators: Jenn Cournoyer & Catherine Damiani
Teens, parents, and educators are invited to join a conversation on Empowering Youth through Digital Media! The ability to create and share information on the Internet can be a powerful experience. So just exactly how are teens today using digital media to empower themselves? This public event brings together a panel of young adults who will tell their stories about using digital media to express themselves in a positive way to spread their message and connect with others. Our panelists include authors Anna Caltabiono, Jenna O’del, and Sean Fay Wolfe, as well as Claudia Morales, social activist from the Harry Potter Alliance. Together these panelists will discuss what it means to be empowered, what digital and social media tools they use and why, and provide inspiration to teens, parents, and educators.
This event is open to the public for FREE
