Media Smart Libraries is a IMLS-grant funded program awarded to the URI Graduate School of Library and Information Studies. Our goal is to increase the digital and media literacy skills of school and public librarians. We are currently taking applications for our second cohort to become Media Smart Librarians.
Why Join the Cohort program?
- Increase your digital and media literacy competencies and implement new programs in your library
- Free Tuition to the 2017 Summer Institute in Digital Literacy
- Digital Kit worth $1,000
- Collaborate with librarians throughout the community
To be recognized as a Media Smart Librarian, you must attend five Media Smart Libraries professional development workshops, complete follow-up activities, and submit your work using our digital badge system.
Applications are due October 20th.
The program will run November 1, 2016 - May 31, 2017.
If you have previously attended any Media Smart Libraries workshops, they will count towards the completion of your certification.
