Media Smart Libraries Invites YOU to Providence Children’s Film Festival

February 6, 2016. Providence, RI. Media Smart Libraries is gearing up for the 2016 Providence Children’s Film Festival (PCFF) and we could not be more excited for this special event. The Providence Children’s Film Festival returns for its seventh exciting year, February 6 to 21, showcasing 16 feature films (including 10 Rhode Island premiers), over 75 shorts from around the world, and encouraging new talent in the 3rd Annual Youth Filmmaker Showcase. The Festival presents the highest quality independent and international films for ages 3-18, but is sure to appeal to all audiences with compelling stories and worldwide adventures along with a variety of workshops, film talks, and presentations to deepen the movie-watching experience.


This year’s annual festival includes a Media Smart Libraries sponsored event,titledBe a Cinema Detective: Discover, explore and inspire through film. This event is being held on February 14th from 10:30-12:30pm at the RISD Museum. Any librarian who registers/attends this event will receive 2 Courtesy Passes to attend an additional event during the festival. Each pass admits one person on a space available basis. Courtesy passes will be exchanged at the door for Admission Ticket. Courtesy Passes can be picked up at the Media Smart Library event. Media Smart Libraries Cohort members who attend will receive an ALL ACCESS FESTIVAL PASS that will admit one person to all events throughout the week on a space available basis.  All Access Festival Passes can be picked up at the Media Smart Library event.


Even if you cannot make our February 14th event, we encourage you take seize this incredible opportunity to expose yourself to the wonderful world of independent and international children’s film. With strong ties to libraries and schools, the 2016 Providence Children’s Film Festival is the perfect venue to familiarize yourself with film and draw inspiration for your own film programs.
